General Rules & Regulations
To maintain a disciplined, safe, and academically productive environment, students of
Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Ara are required to follow the
rules and regulations of the institution. These guidelines ensure order, respect, and
harmony across the campus.
1. Attendance & Academics
- Minimum 75% attendance is compulsory in each subject.
- Students must attend classes, practicals, seminars, and internal assessments regularly.
- Assignments and practical records must be submitted on time.
- Irregularity in academics will result in disciplinary action.
2. Dress Code & Identity Card
- Students must wear modest and appropriate clothing on campus.
- Wearing a valid college identity card is mandatory at all times.
- ID card must be shown when requested by faculty or staff.
3. Discipline & Behaviour
- Maintain respect and proper conduct toward teachers, staff, and peers.
- Misconduct, disruptive behaviour, and disrespect will not be tolerated.
- Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited.
- Maintain silence in classrooms, library, and corridors.
- Loitering in campus during class hours is not allowed.
4. Mobile Phone Policy
- Mobiles must remain on *silent mode* within academic areas.
- Use of mobile phones during lectures or in the library is prohibited.
- Misuse of mobile phones (recording, photography, social media misuse) will lead to strict action.
5. Library Rules
- Maintain silence at all times.
- Books must be returned within the due date to avoid fines.
- Damaging books or resources is a punishable offense.
- ID card is mandatory for issuing books.
6. Laboratory Rules
- Follow safety rules and instructions of lab staff and teachers.
- Handle instruments and chemicals carefully.
- Report damages immediately; negligence may result in penalties.
7. Cleanliness & Campus Conduct
- Keep the campus clean and green.
- Do not litter, write on walls, or damage property.
- Use dustbins for waste disposal.
8. Use of College Property
- College furniture, labs, classrooms, and facilities must be used responsibly.
- Any intentional damage will incur repair charges.
9. Participation in Events
- Students should participate in national festivals and important college events.
- Participation in NSS, cultural programmes, sports, and seminars is encouraged.
10. Examination Rules
- Reach the exam hall at least 15 minutes early.
- Do not carry mobile phones or unauthorized materials in the exam hall.
- Malpractice may lead to cancellation of examination or disciplinary action.
11. Grievance Redressal
- Students may report issues to the Grievance Redressal Committee.
- Confidentiality is maintained throughout the process.
- Misuse of grievance systems is prohibited.
12. Anti-Ragging Policy
- Strictly follows UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, 2009.
- Any student found guilty of ragging will face severe disciplinary and legal action.
13. Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy (POSH)
- The college ensures a safe environment for women.
- The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) handles harassment complaints.
- Strict action will be taken if found guilty.
14. Code of Conduct for Students
- Maintain integrity, honesty, and courtesy at all times.
- Promote unity and cooperation among peers.
- Avoid any behaviour that brings disrepute to the institution.
15. Compliance
- Students must follow all instructions issued by faculty and administration.
- Violations may lead to disciplinary action, suspension, or expulsion.
